An Altar
"A religion without a goddess is halfway to atheism."
- Dion Fortune
"Although its light is wide and great, the Moon is
reflected in a puddle one inch wide. The whole Moon
and the entire sky is reflected in one dew drop on the grass."

August Skies
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
~ William Wordsworth (1770–1850)

Oriental Cat Vs. Small Chihuahua
In this corner of the old beat up chair, we have Kali the Feisty, weighing in at a svelte 4.5 pounds! And in this corner, we have the Mighty Zarathustra, weighing in at a hefty 15 pounds!
It's cats vs dog in the epic and time old battle. All combatants will play nice, of course... it's all in fun!
The chi gets in a sneaky belly nip. |
The cat bats her in the head, claws in. |
Om nom the heads! |
The kill!!! |
And a video... because I can! (sorry it is sideways... I don't know how to fix that in YouTube)

My Grandmother's Garden
Something we often do is plant things for my grandmother. It started years ago with my mother helping her put in a series of roses and a veggies garden at her then home. Today we continue this tradition...even if on a smaller scale.
A garden of Love grows in a Grandmother's heart.

My grandmother valued even the smallest of things.

I Start this in Golden Flowers
I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
~Edna St. Vincent Millay, "Afternoon on a Hill"
I believe these to be Echinacea flowers.
